Ideal for cutting boards, shelves, wall-mounted boards, benches, coffee tables, vanity tops and smaller furniture projects.

The straight, parallel edges also make the boards well suited for glue-ups when you want to create wider solid wood panels.

Natural Wood Characteristics

Solid wood is a natural material. Each board is unique and may vary in colour and grain. Occasional sound knots and other natural characteristics are part of genuine larch and are not considered defects.

Processing & Preparation

The board is supplied as solid woodworking material for further processing. Depending on the selected surface, it can be planed, sanded, cut, drilled, routed, glued and finished to suit your project.

After delivery, allow the larch to acclimatise in its intended indoor environment for around 48 hours before final machining or assembly.

The straight, parallel edges also make the boards suitable for edge-gluing into wider panels.

WHY LARCH?

Strong, lively and naturally full of character

Larch is valued for its warm honey-golden colour, lively grain and distinctive annual-ring pattern. As a solid softwood, it combines a natural, characterful appearance with good strength and versatility, making it a popular choice for shelves, furniture parts, rustic interior builds and many other woodworking projects. The pronounced grain, visible knots and natural colour variation give every board an authentic and distinctive look. With its straight, parallel edges, larch is also suitable for glue-ups and precise further processing.

PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Questions about our solid wood boards?

What is the difference between rough-sawn and planed & jointed?

Rough-sawn – approx. 52 mm: Supplied with its original sawn surface for maximum material and flexibility.

Planed & jointed – approx. 40 mm: Machined flat and straight for a clean starting point for further processing.

Why is the planed board thinner than the rough-sawn board?

Both versions start from approx. 52 mm rough stock. Material is removed during planing and jointing, resulting in a final thickness of approx. 40 mm.

Can I glue several boards together to make a wider panel?

Yes. The straight, parallel edges make the boards suitable for edge-gluing into wider solid wood panels.

Does the wood need additional drying before use?

No additional drying is normally required. The larch is kiln-dried to approx. 8–12% moisture content. Allow it to acclimatise in its intended indoor environment for around 48 hours before final machining or assembly.

Does the board have a natural live edge?

No. These boards have straight, parallel-cut edges for easy machining and edge-gluing. They do not have a natural or live edge.
